Red Dead Redemption is now available on Xbox One, thanks to console's backwards compatibility program. Some say this development hints that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now underway. Interestingly, Developer Rockstar Games is giving away some of the game's DLCs for free. Here's the latest update about Red Dead Redemption 2 release date. We'll also provide information on how to get the free DLCs.

GameSpot reported Liars and Cheats Multiplayer Pack is now available as a free download. It introduces new contents to the game such as horse races, an Explosive Rifle and more. Legends and Killers pack is also a free download. It comes with nine new maps, the Tomahawk weapon and some characters from Red Dead Revolver, such as Harlow and Annie Stoakes.

For single-player DLC, the Hunting and Trading Pack and Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack are now available for free.

Check out the game's Xbox Store page for the complete list of free DLCs.

Red Dead Redemption is currently available with discounted price for Xbox Live Gold members. From $10.79, subscribers can now purchase the game for only $7.49, according to Forbes. The original Red Dead Redemption was released in May 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is a sequel to Red Dead Revolver, which was released in 2004.

After Rockstar Games had announced Red Dead Redemption is now playable on Xbox One, the game went from sleeper to an in-demand title. It was previously ranked at 1093 but after the announcement, it jumps up to the 17th spot, increasing its sales by up to 6329%, as per the report from Game Rant.

With that achievement and the backwards compatibility, some gamers believe Red Dead Redemption 2 could be on the way. The issue is that creators of the original Red Dead Redemption might be forced to release the sequel immediately while the sales are on the rise.

However, there are industry experts that say Red Dead Redemption 2 might become available at a later date. This is because Rockstar Games is still busy developing new contents for Grand Theft Auto franchise. With Grand Theft Auto 5 still on full swing, the game developer might choose it as a top priority over Red Dead Redemption 2.

For now, let's wait for more announcements from Rockstar Games. Stay tuned with Gospel Herald for more Red Dead Redemption 2 release date predictions and updates.
