Everyone likes to have a smartphone that is up to speed where its operating system version is concerned, even more so when flagship models are concerned. For those of you out there who happen to own a HTC 10 flagship smartphone, you might be smarting over the fact that you are yet unable to enjoy Android 7.0 Nougat on your device compared to the rest of your mates who are running around with their Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Google Pixel or Pixel XL, or even the LG V20. Well, we do know that the Android 7.0 Nougat update is being prepared for a release to HTC 10 owners everywhere. Unfortunately, the pending release of this particular update has been delayed, which means all of you eager beaver HTC 10 owners will simply need to continue to be patient.

This is a big blow of confidence for those who purposely stuck with HTC, taking into consideration HTC’s track record in the past where their Google Android-powered smartphones and operating system versions were concerned. In the past, HTC tends to be one of the first non-Google OEMs that were able to introduce major Android operating system updates to its collection of smartphones. However, Motorola and LG have picked up the slack in recent times, especially where Android 7.0 Nougat is concerned having delivered the updates to some of their devices before HTC.

The HTC 10, which was the flagship smartphone from HTC in 2016, did pick up the Android 7.0 Nougat update just a few months back. However, this was not the signal for all of their other devices to enjoy some Android 7.0 Nougat goodness. In fact, HTC Germany did make an announcement just last week that there were some bugs which were attributed to the Android 7.0 Nougat update’s release, which subsequently resulted in it being halted for the moment -- at least, until the situation can be fixed properly.

Those who live in Europe and are rocking to the HTC 10 have yet to pick up the Android 7.0 Nougat update. This is because HTC’s engineers will have to get to work, fixing the discovered bugs that caused problems, presumably, in a soak test. Better to delay the release of a major operating system update (or any other update for that matter) in order to ensure no issues crop up, than to rush a particular update to the market only to see it cause plenty of havoc and disgruntled users along the way. You certainly would not want anyone to literally drive into your headquarters just because of a botched update spoiling their day!

As for the length of time required to wait for the Android 7.0 Nougat update, LlabTooFeR, a famous leak source with plenty of HTC news in the past, claims that it would take approximately another three more weeks of patience before the Android 7.0 Nougat update makes its way to HTC 10 owners who live in Europe. HTC has remained mum on what kind of issues were faced with the Android 7.0 Nougat update release in Europe, but it must have been serious enough to result in it being halted for the moment.
