TORONTO- Two remarkable events for the Hudson Taylor Center for Chinese Ministries were held over the last weekend, welcoming fresh Chinese seminary graduates to join the service of God’s people.

On April 30 evening, a total of 53 Chinese students among almost 200 graduates of Tyndale University College and Seminary this year gathered at the Grace Chinese Gospel Church of North York for a Commissioning Service. The event co-organized with the Hudson Taylor Center for Chinese Ministries in Tyndale Seminary has the theme "Enriching Life, Enduring Service."

Tyndale Seminary is an evangelical, trans-denominational institution of Christian higher education. Founded in 1894, Tyndale is the oldest and largest school of its kind in Canada and the third oldest in North America. The name Tyndale is to honor William Tyndale, the early English reformer whose commitment to making the Scriptures available to all persons led him to undertake the first English translation of the Bible.

Honorable students from the long-standing university are congratulated by more than 200 people attending the event. Family members, pastors, brothers and sisters from their churches and fellow students prayed for and celebrated with them. Rev. James Hudson Taylor IV exhorted everyone with the message about how God prepared Elijah to be fitted for His service in I Kings.

Afterwards, two graduates then shared how God had led through their studies and how much they had experienced His blessings and provisions. Ordained pastors and faculty were invited to lay hands on the graduates while Dr. Janet Clark and Dr. Vincent Poon offered the commissioning prayers.

As Tyndale welcomes fresh graduate to join the service of God’s people, Hudson Taylor Centre marks the 5th Anniversary. About 540 guests attended a banquet held at Century Palace Restaurant in the evening. It was also a special time when over 70 Tyndale alumni came for the reunion. Rev. James Hudson Taylor IV once again spoke on the occasion to encourage these senior ministers.

Pictures of alumni were taken by decades of the 30 years of Tyndale Seminary. Joining their voices, all alumni recommitted themselves to their position in the song "Trust and Obey". Looking to the future after the 5th year milestone, Hudson Taylor Centre announced to launch a new ministry this year- PrimeTimer Ministry- apart from the existing research, publication and mission projects.

A Consultation Conference on PrimeTimer Ministry will be sponsored by the Centre and Chinese Coordination Center for World Evangelism (CCCOWE) Canada on Sept. 29-30.
