Taipei, Taiwan - On June 16, 2005, a very exciting and meaningful interactive meeting was held in Taipei Tienmou International conference center, where over 110 church pastors and 80 seminary workers (majority of them are seminary presidents) discussed the problem of “What comes first? Is it the chicken or the egg?” – Why is it that the churches cannot raise people with good qualities to be trained at seminaries? On the other hand, why is it that the seminaries cannot give sufficient training to graduates to be well-equipped to serve the church?”
The first hour and half of the interactive meeting was spent under a relaxed yet serious mood. During their interactions with one another, the pastors and scholars were sincere in expressing their viewpoints and difficulties, and the attendants provided both provided constructive and precious advises. Led by Rev. Hsia Tsung-chien, the main speakers for the interactive meeting were Dr. John Ong and Dr. Leung Ka-lun vs. Dr. David Chiu and Rev. Patrick Tseng, where the former represented the seminary's stance and the latter represented the position of churches. Further information on the meeting contents will be reported shortly.
In addition, the first day of Second World Chinese Seminary Education Consultation Conference is taking place at the same time with the First World Chinese Christian Leadership Seminar. Specially organized by CCCOWE, this unprecedented interactive meeting held between “Christian Leadership Seminar” and “Seminary Education Consultation” provides the opportunity for seminary leaders and church leaders to conduct dialogue, promoting mutual understanding and development cooperation, establishing a better body of Christ and accomplishing the Lord’s Great Commission. While the First World Chinese Christian Leadership Seminar will be ending tomorrow, the Seminary Education Consultation Conference will end on the 18th.
