New YouTube videos reveal side-by-side comparisons between two iPhone 6 mockups with two iPhone 5 mobile devices, while recent rumors suggest that the aging iPhone 4 is incapable of receiving the highly-anticipated iOS 8 software.

The first video was posted by Macitynet on Sunday, while the second video was released by 9to5mac on Monday. Though there were minor differences in physical appearance, both videos showed iPhone 6 mockups that had 4.7-inch displays, curved edges, and rounded buttons. When placed next to the iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 mockups were significantly taller and thinner.

Other similitaries between the videos included iPhone 6s in gold and space gray. Both gold and gray iPhone 6 were placed next to similar-colored iPhone 5s. It is not clear where Macitynet acquired their faux iPhone 6s, but 9to5mac said that their mockups came from none other Sonny Dickson -- the notorious Australian leakster behind many products relating to Apple.

At this time, it is not clear if the mockups are a close match to the actual iPhone 6. After all, both videos show mockups designed around rumored specifications. These videos were not the first to feature iPhone 6 mockups, for Unbox Therapy did a similar comparison video of an alleged iPhone 6 mockup with an iPod Touch back in late April. Once again, Dickson was the source behind the leak.

For owners of 3D printers, printable 3D plans are already available for download, and have options to print either the 4.7 or 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6. The dimensions of the resulting mockups are based on speculation that matches alleged schematics leaked by Macotakara, a Japan-based Apple fan page.

Elsewhere in the rumor mill, the iPhone 4 may not be receiving the upcoming iOS 8 software. The iPhone 4 is an already an aging platform that Apple has discontinued worldwide.  A common grievance leveled at the iPhone 4 is that it can barely support the iOS 7, which the iOS 8 is slated to replace. Adding to its woes, the iPhone 4 is simply too slow of a device to incorporate every visually-appealing aspect of the iOS 7. What the user gets instead is an iPhone 4 that has iOS 7 installed, but without much of the software's eye-candy. Also, many iOS 7 features such as AirPlay mirroring and turn-by-turn navigation are strangely absent. Clearly, the iPhone 4 is nearing the end of its line. This was a sentiment mirrored on Twitter by notable iOS hacker, Stefan Esser, who wrote that "Apple stopping to sell the iPhone 4 again is a good indicator for iOS 8 not supporting iPhone 4 anymore."

The iOS 8 may be awaiting a launch date the same time as that of the iPhone 6. Naturally, we may see the new software bundled with Apple's upcoming flagship, the iPhone 6. Apple has not confirmed the exact launch date for the iPhone 6, though it has been speculated that the iPhone 6 release date may come in September - roughly the same month the iPhone 5 started hitting the shelves.  Rumors also suggest that it will be the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 that will be launched first instead of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, which may not see a launch date until 2015. The iPhone 6 may be featured at WWDC 2014 in June, when Apple introduces many of its new products.
