Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available for online pre-order at four confirmed U.S. carriers starting on Friday, on Sept. 12.

Those mobile service providers include Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. They will start accepting pre-orders at 12:01 AM PST, which is 3:01 AM on the East Coast.

At this time, none of the carriers are authorizing in-store pickup. In other words, customers will need to wait for their iPhones to be shipped to either their business or home address. The Apple Store is apparently offering in-store pickup for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but details remain scarce at the moment.

Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T will release the new iPhones to customers next Friday, Sept. 19.

This development comes just days after Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at its headquarters in Cupertino, CA. Despite rumors to the contrary, the tech giant released the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus along with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. Previously, a number of tech observers believed that the 4.7-inch version would be released ahead of the 5.5-inch variant.

Regarding storage, both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has three options - 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. Curiously, Apple has gotten rid of the 32GB model option for both phones. The company has instead replaced the 32GB model with the newer 128GB variant.

Each of the iPhone 6 version comes installed with Apple's proprietary Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Users have the convenience of unlocking or locking their devices by swiping their fingers on the sensor. Touch ID has also been integrated with the iOS 8 operating system, which was released the same day as both iPhone 6 devices. With the new iOS 8 software, iPhone 6 users can lock/unlock apps using the Touch ID sensor.
