It was only in September when the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released, but fans of Apple products are looking ahead and speculating on when the iPhone 8 will be released and just how much better it would be than its predecessor.

If the iPhone 8 will be released in 2017 and it follows tradition, then expect to see the newest model of the iPhone by September of next year. But there are rumors that it could be different for the next one. This is because the 10th anniversary of the iPhone will be on 2017, and Apple might be cooking up something different to celebrate a decade of the game-changing cellphone.

The Wall Street Journal says: "Apple plans bigger design changes for 2017, the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone. Those changes could include an edge-to-edge organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, screen and eliminating the home button by building the fingerprint sensor into the display, according to people familiar with the matter."

If following tradition again, next year should be the launch of only the Apple iPhone 7s, which will feature only small tweaks and changes from the iPhone 7, but because of the momentous occasion, Applye might just be launching the iPhone 8, as speculated by PC Advisor.

Mirror UK reports that there are around ten prototypes being tested for the next iPhone. Apparently,Apple executives want its latest smartphones to have better resolutions than the ones from its biggest competitor, Samsung, which means that the new iPhone might feature the highest standard for display technology, an OLED display.

If they do want to have a higher resolution than Samsung, the iPhone 8 might feature a 4K resolution to complete with the 2K resolution of Samsung's smartphones.

The biggest change in the iPhone 8 might be the design. There are rumors that Apple is planning to create a design overhaul of the iconic iPhone, opting for an all-glass version instead of an aluminum casing. If the all-glass casing is true then it will perfectly complement the planned curved OLED display.

For the price, expect that it will still be as expensive as its predecessor, so it might range from $700 - $1,000 dollars.

The release of the iPhone 8 might come in September but fans might want to watch and see if  Apple has anything planned for June 29, which is when the first iPhone was released 10 years ago.
