Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou’s music video for his latest album “Opus 12” featured his church’s senior pastor as a marriage witness; this inclusion of Christian element comes after Chou’s baptism that took place months earlier.

“Opus 12” is Chou’s twelfth album since his first album release twelve years ago. In the opening scene for music video of “No Difference in Loving You”, Rev. Abraham Ku, senior pastor New Life Church in Taipei, Taiwan, appears holding the Bible as the pastor witnessing the marriage ceremony held inside a chapel.

The other significant others that Chou has included in his past music video productions were his mother and grandmother, so media speculations says that he holds a significant place of influence in his life.

In the caption of the picture showing Chou, Ku, and others from New Life church, it says that “Pastor Ku is like Chou’s spiritual father, who constantly prays for him and periodically cares and encourages him,” according to Taipei New Life Church’s Facebook fan page.

Chou, whose record albums has sold over 28 million copies since 2000, has maintained an unpretentious style in his approach to his music productions and interactions in the entertainment industry, where, for example, his music would reveal real facets of his life and passion. Since news of Chou becoming a believer broke, his Christian fans have expressed their hopes that he can use his music talents to proclaim God’s love.

About a year ago, Chou was confirmed by his good celebrity friend Will Liu to be a Christian, whom started attending New Life Church together with Liu. Moreover, Chou said in the church event’s video his passionate pursuit of faith in Christ. He said that Jesus fashion is the most popular faith, most fashionable worship, and let us be crazy about Jesus.

In a recent interview with an entertainment magazine in Taiwan, Chou said that if he can see Jesus now, he would thanked Jesus for giving him a good mother and for allowing him to become “Jay Chou," for everything is grace.

New Life Church in Taipei is home to various other celebrities. In a recent interview with The Gospel Herald, Chinese-American pop-artist Alisa Galper, winner of Taiwan’s television singing competition “One Million Stars”, said she also came to the Lord through New Life and her small group leader was Liu. In the church’s picture gallery, limbless evangelist Nick Vujicic has also spoken at the church recently.
