Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is currently battling a court case regarding his domestic violence charges and his attorney may have just indicated that they might go for a plea deal. This was revealed through an accidental text message which strongly suggests that Manziel has a hard time staying off drugs.

The text message from defense attorney Bob Hinton was supposed to be sent to his co-counsel Jim Darnell but was forwarded by mistake to the Associated Press, which was asking the lawyer regarding Manziel's involvement in a recent car wreck last week.

"Heaven helps us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle," Hinton wrote in the message.

He also mentioned something about a receipt which could reflect that Manziel spent about $1,018 for drug paraphernalia hours before the vehicular accident. However, Hinton maintained that it's hard to verify if his client really made the purchase.

"I don't know if the receipt is legitimate or not," Hinton told the Associated Press after he was asked about it. "I just know that it doesn't say Johnny's name on it anywhere that I can see."

"It's just that somebody in that store, I guess, circulated that to the other store managers and employees saying, 'Guess who was here today and spent this amount of money.' That's all I know," he added.

The text message shows that Manziel's camp could be targeting for leniency in his ongoing court case, which revolves around the domestic abuse charge made against him after he reportedly hit his ex-girlfriend earlier in January of this year.

If the court rules against the former Cleveland Browns quarterback, he could face a fine of $4,000 and up to a year in prison. Hinton plans to could reduce the sentence to a plea bargain. However, as he mentioned in the text message, this could still depend on the conditions that the court will set.

If, however, the court decides to subject Manziel to a drug test, Hinton is worried that his client might fail. This would then show that Manziel is still using illegal substances even though it has already been a year since came out of rehab.
