Game developer Square Enix is really in the spotlight as some of their long-awaited franchises are finally about to receive fresh offerings after years of fans waiting.  These games are Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3, and each game has a deep mythology, well-developed characters, and a massive fanbase.  This is what is known about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 release dates and news.

For those that aren't aware of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, it uses characters and worlds licensed by Disney.  In fact, what is seen on the box art has Disney's logo with Square Enix above the Kingdom Hearts III logo, as seen in the image.

Movie Pilot has recently speculated, to the fun of Kingdom Hearts fans, what new characters and worlds will be making their appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3.  It has been suggested that the worlds of recent hit Disney computer-animated films such as Tangled and Big Hero 6 could be involved, but what about Studio Ghibli?

If you are not familiar with Studio Ghibli, it is a Japanese animation company that has released some of its films in America with the help of Disney.  These include hit films such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo.  There are many interesting characters that would fit in very well within Kingdom Hearts, not to mention Studio Ghibli's trademark beautiful backgrounds as a world.

Of course, just because Disney has the license to these characters from Studio Ghibli doesn't mean they should use them.  Many Kingdom Hearts fans don't want to see certain Disney properties in that game franchise.  Considering that Disney has the rights to Marvel and Star Wars characters, the game might become something else if Darth Vader and Iron Man start showing up.

As for news of the gameplay, there isn't much about it.  It will involve the protagonist Sora, and it is the final chapter in the "Dark Seeker" saga.  The release date is shown on Amazon as being December 30, 2016, but this probably is not accurate.  The same date is given for Final Fantasy 15 on Amazon as well.  Chances are, the date is just a placeholder for when the date of both games gets officially unveiled.

Final Fantasy big event is happening on March 30, where Square Enix will host an event that will most likely announce the release date.  Those that want to live stream or watch the event online can do so through Square Enix YouTube and Twitch channels.

The Bit Bag reports that Square Enix will reportedly release new information about Final Fantasy 15 twice a week.  This information will come in the form of a blog, and one written in Japanese, but it will give updates on Tuesday and Friday.  Fans are also encouraged to check out the official Twitter account and YouTube channel.

Most predict that the March 30 event, which is about a month away, will bring a release date for Final Fantasy 15 for some time in 2016.  However, Kingdom Hearts 3 looks like a long way off, as there isn't even a demo or much information about it.  Expect that for 2017.
