Kingdom Hearts 3 launch schedule will announced this coming fall, according to the game's director Tetsuya Nomura. For now, the exact release date remains a mystery.

Happily though, more details regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 have been emerging in recent days. Besides having new gameplay mechanics, Kingdom Hearts 3 will run on the latest Unreal Engine 4 game engine. Upon release, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is unclear whether the game will be ported to older consoles such as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Release Date Likely to Be Announced in November

Tetsuya Nomura recently told Japanese publication Dengkei Playstation that Kingdom Hearts 3's release date has already been decided.

"We've reached an agreement, but I still can't say anything. I plan to give new information at the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event that will be held on the 3rd of November," Nomura said on June 24. This statement was later translated and reposted at the KH13 online forum.

Originally announced back in 2013, Kingdom Hearts 3 was expected to launch in 2014. Development was instead pushed back by a year. It is unclear whether the game will be available in 2015.

Square Enix will host a special Kingdom Hearts fan event on November 3. Questions regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 will definitely be raised at the gathering. However, what is revealed depends on what Square Enix is willing to share. Tickets for the event will be available starting in September. However, KHinsider reports that the tickets can only be obtained through a lucky draw.

More Sora Details Unveiled

Main protagonists Sora, Donald, and Goofy are definitely coming back in the next KH installment. Naturally, Square Enix will introduce updates to the way players interact with the characters. The only available information for now concerns Sora's gameplay mechanics.

"In addition to the Keyblade transformations for Sora, it becomes possible to maneuver using specific forms and actions. There will be many battle choices," Tetsuya Nomura told respected Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu. KHinsider translated and reposted Nomura's statement in English.

Nomura also mentioned that players can choose between two methods of handling Sora.

"Take whatever strategy, it will be up to the player," he explained. "Of course, for those who button mash will have an exhilarating experience but for those who want technical fights will also find fun making combinations. In addition to the Keyblade transformations, there is still the Attraction Flow to be appreciated."
