Kukki militant attack leaves Assamese missioanary dead

Church celebration ended with 5 dead when Kukki militants barged in and shot indiscriminately...

Guwahati, Assam, India., Dec. 5 - A church celebration in Assam, India, interrupted by Kukki militant attack turned deadly and left five people dead, including Gospel For Asia native missionary Samuel.

The incident follows on the heels of another tragedy caused by ethnic conflict that killed several students at a local school in the region. Despite that God is at work among the Kukki and Karbi tribes.

Gospel For Asia has planted 85 churches and 30 fellowships among the Karbi people and recently started a Gospel outreach to the Kukis, with five churches established so far.

When Samuel and his family set out to share Christ in this community, they knew very well the dangers that lay before them. Through our prayers for Samuel's bereaved wife and three children, we have the privilege to hold up the arms of precious brothers and sisters such as these, who do not count their lives dear to themselves for the sake of bringing the Gospel to those who have never heard.
