Khloe Kardashian will be absent from social media, as her former husband and NBA player Lamar Odom lies in a coma while breathing with assistance of a machine. Prayer was one topic that was on her mind as well as those of family members.

"As a family we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar," she said in a statement on Thursday night. "Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time."

Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer was particularly thankful for the quick response from supporters.

"No words can express the overwhelming gratitude we feel for the outpouring of support from around the world. Please continue to keep in your prayers, our family and Lamar, whom we deeply love, admire and cherish. His complete healing is paramount and our primary focus. Please respect our privacy as we continue to lean on GOD and trust in Him during this extremely difficult time."

Odom's in-laws have also added requests for prayers from the public on social media. "Praying nonstop for my Brother," wrote Rob Kardashian, who happens to be a close friend to Odom. "Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul," Kourtney Kardashian said.

Friends have also taken twitter as well. Kylie Jenner recently tweeted, "please don't go".

On Tuesday, Odom was found unconscious with blood coming out of his mouth and nose at legally-approved brothel in Crystal, Nevada. He was later moved to Las Vegas for further treatment. Doctors determined that Odom suffered multiple strokes and organ failure. The retired NBA star is suspected of having a drug overdose.

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian were in the process of going through divorce after having filed for it beginning in 2013. They were previously married in 2009.

Since the two are still technically married, Khloe is currently making medial decision on behalf of Odom. A report by TMZ Sports indicates that Khloe has already made some decisions. The publication stated that their divorce was held back by a backlog in the family law courts system, and that their divorce was to be finalized in at least two months.

At this time, Odom is accompanied by his estranged wife Khloe, family members and former colleagues including basketball Kobe Bryant. According to Yahoo News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson paid a visit to the Kardashians at the Las Vegas hospital where Odom is staying.
