Fresh details about Lamborghini's upcoming limited edition hypercar has hit the web. Previously rumored to be called Hyperveloce, a new report now suggests that the new luxury model by the Italian automaker will be called "Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4."

A recent post by a French publication called TF1 mentioned that the vehicle will be based on the current Aventador SV. Centenario is the Spanish word for "Centenary." As its name suggests, the model is meant to honor the 100^th birth anniversary of Feruccio Lamborghini, the company's founder, who was born on April 28, 1916.

The same source claims that the LP 770-4's naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine will be longitudinally-mounted at the rear, capable of developing up to 770 metric horsepower (or 759 hp in U.S. measurements) and will be using a four-wheel drive system.

According to TF1, the Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 will be able to hit the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in just 2.7 seconds. That is 0.2 seconds quicker than the Aventador LP700-4, the model it is based on. The actual top speed value is still unknown but it is expected to exceed the 350 km/h or 217 mph of the standard Aventador.

In comparison, the Lamborghini Veneno, a supercar which is also based on the Aventador, can deliver 740 horsepower and tops out maximum speed of 221 mph. However, the upcoming Centenario will not reflect the Veneno's ultra-premium design elements as the former will reportedly focus on functional aerodynamics.

The Lamborghini Veneno is one of the rarest and most expensive supercars in the world. The car maker sold one for $4.5 million and only produced a total of five units; two for the company's internal usage and three for customers.

Although it will not be as exclusive as the Lamborghini Veneno, the new Centenario LP 770-4 will still be sold in exceptionally low numbers. There will only be 20 units to be manufactured, giving the anniversary model almost the same level of rarity as the Veneno.

Furthermore, the model's LP 770-4 name offers another possible hint to its specifications. Due to the absence of the letter "I," it would mean the vehicle will not be a hybrid, as some of the earlier rumors indicated. The said letter represents the word "ibrido," which means "hybrid" in Italian. It is manifested in last year's Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 hybrid car.

The Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 will be unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. The automaker's decision to produce only 20 units for sale, along with superior performance, styling and other premium specifications will reportedly push the new hypercar's asking price to over one million euros, or about 1.15 million USD.
