Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India., Nov. 16 - Bibles in all sizes and translations are on sale at the five-day Hyderabad Christian Book Fair being organised by Omega Books at Millennium Methodist Church , Secunderabad. What’s more, you can pick up many of these Bibles at discounts of up to 50 per cent.

The fair, which begins on Monday, has on display over 1,300 types of Bibles, 500 books and 600 Indian publications. Books worth Rs 25 lakh are expected to be sold at the fair, said OM Publications’ managing director Anuj Patro. Books worth Rs 12 lakh were sold during the fair held last year, he added.

The biggest attractions at the fair are the Nelson Smallest Bible, which is roughly the size of a thumb and the largest Bible, which was printed in Philadelphia in 1884 and weighs seven kilograms.

There are four sections on Bibles, three on Indian prints, one on books in South Indian languages, two sections on music, and an exclusive section for gifts.

The least-expensive Bible is the King James Version, which costs Rs 60, and most expensive is the World Biblical Commentary, which runs into 52 volumes and costs Rs 23,000.

New collections include the two-volume The Dead Sea Scrolls and Barnes’ Notes on New Testament. The Life Application Study Bible, which is being sold at Rs 650 against its original price of Rs 1250, is a good buy. The much sought-after Student Bible is available in two versions, costing Rs 250 and Rs 370.

There are various titles for different age groups like the Story Bible for kids, Wedding Bible, Couple Bible, Youth Bible, Ultra Thin Large Print Bible, Women’s Bible, Maxwell Leadership Bible, Master Study Bible and so on.

The ‘Pick any for Rs 10’ section has books on various subjects, including Memory Graphs for Kids, Business Software and Publishing with Adobe PageMaker.

Other attractions include the biography of Bhakt Singh (Rs 149), Mother Teresa’s Biography (Rs 79), 10 books of Philip Yancey including Where is God when it hurts? and John Maxwell’s collections among others.
