Latest iPhone 7 Leak Unveils New Delayed Release Date, iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus To Offer Up To 256 GB Internal Storage

By Trisha Cerdena

With Apple fans looking forward to an earlier release date for the tech giant’s newest smartphones, the latest iPhone 7 leak has suggested that the release of the highly anticipated devices will be delayed. According to 9to5Mac, details from a source at AT&T revealed that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will only go on sale starting September 23.

Such information disputes the gathered details last month by Evan Blass (@evleaks) who reported that sales for the two new iPhones are to begin on September 16 whereas pre-orders can be made as early as September 9.

After gathering information, Bloomberg also reported that the iPhone 7 release can be expected to start on September 9- same prediction as that of Blass. Such date is closer to that of previous iPhone releases, such as the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus pre-orders which started on September 12 while their arrival among retailers began on September 19.

Meanwhile, new reports claim that Apple plans to have increased internal storage for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The latest models will reportedly be made available starting at 32 GB and users can opt for a maximum of 256 GB of internal storage- a highly noticeable improvement from the 16 GB offered in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, topping out at 128 GB.

Several new iPhone 7 features are also being anticipated, including the use of a 3D Touch Home button, suggesting that the tech giant has replaced the physical mechanical button that has been used on every iPhone since the first model was released in 2007.

The standard 3.5 mm headphone port will reportedly be dropped as well.

Nonetheless, both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come with a design that is identical their predecessors- the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

In leaked images, the new smartphones’ rear cases were tweaked in such a way that antenna bands can be integrated into the top and bottom of the gadgets in a more subtle manner. This contradicts the clearly visible antenna bands that can be found across the shells of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The photos also show that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus color options include a new Space Black.

The pair of devices will be powered by the company’s newest A10 processor, which was recently seen in leaked images. A new iPhone 7 Plus benchmark also suggests that the larger smartphone will come with 3 GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, Apple fans can also look forward to other new devices and software in September. The tech giant is expected to unveil major updates to their operating systems integrated into the Macs, iPhone, iPads, Apple Watch and Apple TV.
