The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization and the Global Missions Health Conference will be hosting the first global conference on HIV/AIDS pandemic in North America.

Lausanne Committee will be hosting the world largest medical conference from November 10-12 at Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, KY. The conference, titled "North American Consultation on the Role of the Church in the HIV/AIDS pandemic," will feature over 90 speakers and 98 workshops to address the major global health issues.

HIV/AIDS pandemic is "arguably the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time," according to The Global Health Mission Conference website. The consultation will address how the North American churches can take part to assist the crisis and strategize how the churches can work together to make a difference in the next ten years to aid "the widows and orphans in their distress."

The plenary sessions will be led by President of World Vision Richard Stearns, Harvard School of Public Health senior research scientist Edward C. Green, CEO of Food for the Hungry Benjamin K. Homan, and World Evangelical Alliance international director Geoff Tunnicliffe. Other prominent speakers will be featured in over ten workshops.

The purpose of Global Health Mission Conference is to inform, train, and equip health care professionals and students to utilize medical skills for the ministry of God and to share the Gospel in both international and domestic mission fields.
