LG G4 trials for the U.S. market will soon begin, according to the from the official LG site. Interested parties will need to register quickly because spots are limited. Meanwhile, LG G3 and G2 users have been reporting bugs with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Trial Start Date for the LG G4

Presently, LG has not specified when it will start handing out the trial devices. It has also not stated when it expects their LG G4 trial to be returned. What is certain is that trials will start right before the actual retail launch. According to Android Authority, that release date might be in June. Upon release, the LG G4 is expected to compete against rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple's iPhone 6.

One feature for the G4 is its removable battery cover to allow users to easily swap out the battery. This is notable because many manufacturers have opted to keep the battery compartment inaccessible to users. Recent photos also reveal the LG G4's leather-clad cover that comes in multiple color options including yellow, blue-gray, and black.

Android Central reports that the LG G4 will have a camera with f/1.8 aperture. This feature is very useful when taking photos in lowlight situations.

G3 and G2 Bugs Reported, After Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update

LG was amongst the first major device manufacturers to push out the Android Lollipop update for the older G3 and G2 flagship devices. Most major U.S. wireless providers such as Verizon and Sprint have already rolled out the Android Lollipop update for their versions of the LG G3 and G2.

So far, G3 and G2 owners' response has been mixed. While some users have not reported issues, others have experienced WiFi and battery drain issues.

A number of Sprint subscribers reported having random Wi-Fi disconnection issues with their LG G3's. Many have received proxy connection failed messages when attempting to access websites.

Other problems involve the battery. According to Tech Times, unlucky users have seen significantly slower battery charges. The same publication reported that many G3 and G2 owners have tried factory resets with little or no success. These lollipop complaints have been mirrored by users on the Samsung Galaxy Note series as well.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Status with U.S. Carriers

Bad news aside, most U.S. carriers have rolled out either the Android Lollipop 5.0 or Lollipop 5.0.1 OS. The LG G3 and G2 Lollipop update is already available at Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

It is uncertain exactly when LG will push out the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop, which reportedly fixes many of the problems associated with earlier versions of Android 5.0. For now, LG G3 and G2 users will need to exercise caution when deciding to download the current Android 5.0 and 5.0.2 Lollipop updates.
