Now that speculations about Apple's iPhone 7 and Samsung's Galaxy S7 are in full swing, fans of LG may have something to be excited about, too. Fresh details about the device maker's next flagship smartphone, expected to be called LG G5, has surfaced online.

In a recent report by Tech Times, the South Korean tech company is slated to unveil the LG G5 sometime in November. The flagship model will reportedly sport the state-of-the-art Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm along with other premium specifications.

One of its supposed key features is the 20-megapixel main camera that will allow users to record 4K videos. Some tech observers even speculate that the company might equip it with two rear cameras, apart from the powerful 10-megapixel front snapper.

The processing prowess of Snapdragon 820 will be efficiently utilized as the model is said to come with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS by Google. The said OS is capable of supporting fingerprint scanners, which are present on the newly launched Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. However, LG's upcoming flagship will supposedly come with an Iris scanner that will let users unlock the device using their eye.

On the outside, the model is reported to come with a 5.6-inch True HD IPS "flexible" screen. It will have a 4K resolution protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, its top-of-the-line processor will be coupled with 3GB or 4GB RAM. Storage variants include 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB.  

If these LG G5 rumors turn out to be accurate, then the LG G5 will not be unveiled alone, Tech Times noted. The company is is expected to unveil it next-generation handset along with another, bigger version called LG G5 Pro--a model that is believed to be LG's answers to Apple's iPhone 6S Plus and Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+. The LG G5's larger sibling is said to sport a slightly more powerful 1.8 GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 820 chipset.

To keep with today's premium models, the LG G5 will likely offer support for 4G networks, NFC, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0, Know Your Mobile observes. Aside from those features, the LG G5 is also rumored to be equipped with an updated Touch ID technology as well as proximity, light, and gravity sensors. Sources claim that the device's camera will have a smile, multi-gesture and face detection features, too.
