Longmire ‘Very Likely’ to Have Season 5 on Netflix, Release Date, Cast, Spoilers

Can't wait to get more of Longmire's American crime drama? Have no fear. There will very likely be a renewal of season 5 on Netflix, Christian Today reports.

Longmire, which stars Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips, was developed by John Coveny and Hunt Baldwin. The TV series was based on the Walt Longmire Mysteries books by Craig Johnson.

The first season of the Western series came out on the A&E channel in 2012. It lived for three more seasons prior to folding but was taken up again by Netflix for 10 more episodes. Season 4 was produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television and executive produced by Hunt Baldwin, John Coveny, Greer Shephard, and Michael M. Robin. It was recently released on September 10, 2015, on Netflix in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Currently, viewers can get their Longmire fix from Netflix's online streaming service available to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

When-Will.net reports that the story picks up right after Walt Longmire sets out to find out who killed his wife.

These early viewers are curious whether the show will continue with a renewal to Season 5. Christian Today admits that there is no official word on Longmire Season 5 but notes that Robert Taylor (Sheriff Walt Longmire) says it would be how well the latest season is received that would determine the next season.

CarterMatt.com, however, points out that the quality of the new season feels like it won't be the last. According to the website, it is highly likely that there will be another season following the fourth.

Meanwhile, Taylor reveals that "There are some very dramatic developments in Season 4. If something is resolved, perhaps the manner that it's resolved might blow something else apart. There's a lot of big stuff going on."
