Luke Cage 2 might be released in 2019 Screen Rant

Did you manage to catch Luke Cage when it first debuted on Netflix? Well, that was a TV miniseries that certainly captured the imagination of the masses, and it certainly ended on a high note. In other words, people were left wanting for more, and while we might only see Luke Cage Season 2 released sometime in 2017, this does not mean that the speculation will end on what Season 2 will entail, what with a fair number of other Marvel characters also making up part of the Netflix TV miniseries universe.

What is all the ruckus about when it comes to Luke Cage Season 2’s air date? Well, that season will probably see some focus on how The Defenders are formed. The Defenders can be said to be the budget version of The Avengers, where the former would probably be glossed over if there is a possible worldwide apocalyptic class event happening that only the latter can handle. If your kitten gets stuck in the tree, perhaps this is where the Defenders would come in.

The Defenders will comprise of the likes of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Iron Fist. It seems that Luke Cage Season 2 is being planned for a 2017 release, and that is certainly more than welcome taking into consideration how it was originally meant to make the grade only in 2019. 2019 would certainly have been too long a wait, though, so 2017 is a whole lot more welcome. Why the 2017 release date? That is because Marvel-Netflix are only able to air 2 shows each year, and this was confirmed by Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos in an interview.

Mike Colter, the main man in the Netflix TV series, did mention in a recent interview, "I think there's a big picture plan that includes everyone doing their series, which we've done, culminating it make The Defenders." This is certainly a pretty “clear as day” sign that The Defenders will be part of the upcoming second season of Luke Cage, and we should be able to see more of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Daredevil, too.

As for the kind of plots that can work its way into the Luke Cage Season 2 episodes, anything and everything seem to be game. Perhaps a few episodes that cover unprepared parenthood between Luke and Jessica just like that in the comics will be able to strike a chord with viewers. After all, that feel good feeling is always a big draw at the movies or in a TV series, where there are many more episodes which will allow viewers to bond and get connected to the various on-screen characters.

What would you, as a viewer and fan of Luke Cage, would like to see in Luke Cage Season 2? Perhaps not having too many crossovers or cameos of characters like Iron Fist and Jessica Jones would be good, since too many of those might feel like forced advertisements in the middle of the series.
