Celebrate the Independence with a blast. This year's Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks will use a specially designed app so that viewers will also enjoy the amazing New York City display on their smartphones.

For the first time, viewers will be able to see New York's popular fireworks show light up on their devices. Once the countdown starts, the Makelight application will be sync up to the phones. Macy's Fireworks spokesman Orlando Veras told in Fox News that the app will give "each spectator the opportunity to be part of the show."

The fireworks display will start at approximately 9:25 p.m. ET. Macy's will reportedly use more than 50,000 firework shells for the show. The pyrotechnics display will be fired from five on barges on East River. Four of the barges are placed on Midtown Manhattan, and there's a double-barge below the Brooklyn Bridge.

Furthermore, this year's fireworks display will showcase pyro-writing technique. Viewers should see how the fireworks will spell out "U.S.A" in the night sky. Also, one of the event's highlights is the ringing of a bell 13 times in honor of America's 13 original colonies.

For those who are not within viewing distance of the pyrotechnic display, NBC will have a two-hour live national broadcast of Macy's 4th of July 2016 Fireworks Spectacular. The show will start at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. and will be hosted by Willie Geist and Tamron Hall. In addition, there will be a live stream channel for the festivities.

According to NY Daily News, one of the best places to watch the Macy's fireworks show is on Elevated Acre, a secret green space built between FiDi skyscrapers at 55 Water St. The garden offers a perfect view of the two barges stationed at the Brooklyn Bridge.

Additionally, East River Waterfront Esplanade at Pier 15 is a good spot to watch the fireworks display. The esplanade has bi-level waterfront park that offers open space for New Yorkers who want to find peace in the middle of busy city. It is also only two piers down from Pier 17, where the barges are placed.

For people with special needs, Macy's provided a comfortable and safe place for them. They can watch the show at Vietnam Memorial Park, intersection of FDR Drive and 34th St., and Center Blvd. from 48th Ave to 49th Ave.
