The votes are in! Twenty-two-year-old New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., is the new poster boy of EA Sports' "Madden NFL 16" video game that is set for release on August 25, 2015 for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

After only one season in the National Football League, Odell Beckham Jr., bested other nominees for Madden NFL 16's cover athlete, including New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, Xbox said in its web site.

"You made your voices heard, and on today's episode of ESPN SportsCenter, EA Sports tallied up votes from Madden fans across the world to crown Madden NFL 16's cover athlete. And the winner is. The New York Giants' Odell Beckham Jr," Xbox said Wednesday.

It went on to say, "Yes, your new Madden NFL 16 cover athlete is Odell Beckham Jr. He's currently in his second pro season, and during his rookie campaign, Beckham caught 91 receptions for 1,305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Check out the full rundown of his professional stats on NFL.com. Big congratulations to Beckham for winning this rare honor!"

According to the Review Journal, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson were also nominated to cover Madden NFL 16.

Beckham Jr., becomes the youngest NFL player to grace the Madden cover, beating Vince Young who was 24 when he appeared on the popular game's cover. Beckham joins Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald and Detroit's Calvin Johnson to become only the third wide receiver to land on Madden NFL 16's cover.

During his first year with the Giants in 2014, Bechham Jr., played just 12 of the team's 16 regular-season games after suffering a hamstring injury. He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after catching 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.
