MALAYSIA- Over 380 youths from all of Malaysia gathered for a nationwide mission camp and their hearts have revived to take up the burden of world mission.

Sponsored by the Malaysia branch of the U.S.-based Gospel Operation International (GoInt’l) for Chinese Christians, the camp runs from May 8 to May 11 at Peace Heaven. The four-day camp includes keynote messages, group discussion and sharing from missionaries.

Rev. Chan Fong, senior pastor of the Grace Singapore Chinese Christian Church (GSCCC); Rev. Cyrus Lam, director of Gospel Operation International for Chinese Christians; chairman of Chinese Coordination Center of World Evangelization (CCCOWE) West Malaysia; moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Singapore; moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Malaysia and others are presented as speakers.

Rev. Chan Fong has challenged the youth to look at the life of Christ by referring to the scene when Jesus called Peter and John to become his disciples. When they looked at the life of Jesus, their lives also changed.

Fong emphasized that three characters needed. The first is "obedience," the second is "overcoming all evilness" and the third is "embracing all people."

Around 26 percent of the total population in the world has never heard of the Gospel. However, as people responds to God’s calling with obedience and go to preach the Word of God, many will be returned to Christ. Fong said in the days of the first missionary to China Robert Morrison, he has converted just around 3 people to become Christians. One century later, when 3,345 missionaries were dispatched to China from Europe, the number of Christians has increased to 80 millions.

Secondly, Fong suggested the importance of overcoming evilness with spiritual weapons. God gives his disciples the authority over the devil. In the mission field, it will never be successful if there is a lack of prayer.

Fong also reminded Christians to embrace all kinds of people just as Jesus did when choosing his disciples. Looking at the image of the disciples, all of them were very shabby and did not have any spiritual training, but God has used them to build up a great church.

The mission camp was proved to be very fruitful as 80 percent of the attendants has rededicated themselves to the Great Commission.
