Coming to Manchester United? Manchester Evening News

Some of you might not be familiar with football clubs, and for those of you who are American, I am talking about what we call soccer.  Certain football clubs in Europe are extremely popular and rich over there, even though we might not have even heard of them here in the United States.  Right now, there are a lot of transfer news rumors concerning two players from football clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid with David de Gea and Sergio Ramos.

According to Managing Madrid, Real Madrid needs to sign David De Gea this summer at any cost, even if that means selling off Sergio Ramos to Manchester United.  The British football club (F.C.) has offered €60 million for Mr. Ramos, and should the offer be accepted, then De Gea will join Madrid.

The defender Ramos apparently wants to leave Real Madrid, which means that Manchester United could hold onto De Gea unless the Real Madrid want to let Ramos go.  Louis Van Gaal, the head of Manchester United,  confirmed that a recent press conference this week that Manchester is interested in Ramos when he said that "signings are a process and maybe Ramos is in that process".

In the Meantime, the Manchester Evening News reports that Real Madrid "will try to convince Sergio Ramos to abandon plans to join Manchester United when the centre back holds fresh talks with president Florentino Perez next week".  Perez is scheduled to set down with the Spanish international when Real Madrid's pre-season tour heads to China.

Perez seems very determined to keep a hold of Ramos, as he has already rejected a bid of £28 million from Manchester United.  However, if Ramos is determined to leave, then why shouldn't he?  Of course, with Real Madrid attempting to get David de Gea, Ramos could make this transfer ineffectual.

Right now, Manchester United are refusing to consider any bid for David de Gea the goalkeeper that is below £32 million, and yes, Ramos is expected to be included in any deal.

If Ramos sticks with his intention to end his time with Real Madrid and do the transfer to Manchester United, the Perez will demand a fee of £65 million, which would be a world record for a defender.  Assuming that deal passes, there could be some serious fan backlash from Real Madrid as Ramos is considered an iconic soccer player, and to see Perez sell him out might be looked at as a blow to the Real Madrid F.C.

Of course, Ramos is turning 30 the next season, which means that Manchester United would have little or no sell-on value for this particular player.  The Executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward is well prepared to allow the matter of the transfer to drag on until the transfer deadline day, but both football clubs as well as fans want the issue to resolve much sooner.
