On April, 6th, there was an online chat held by Lifeway.com with MercyMe and fans. During the one hour chat, fans were able to submit questions to the host, who would in turn ask MercyMe. Questions were various, ranging from how the band started, to the impact of their lives with the release of their new album "Undone".
Though fan-to-band interaction was limited, fans were happy with the answers that they received.
Here is some of what MercyMe said. Jim Bryson, Nate Cochran, and Mike Scheuchzer were the 3 that attended the chat.
"We are really excited about it [their April 20th release], we think it is our best album to date, so far we are hearing good feedback. It is probably the edgiest thing we have done, it is titled "Undone". The first single is "Here with Me". It is a worship song that speaks about the presence of God."
When asked for advice to those interested in going into Christian music, MercyMe said,
"Do it for the right reason...God has called you to minister, make sure music is where He wants you. Also be faithful where God has you…not always looking to what might happen in the future…be faithful to where He has you ministering today. He’ll be faithful to bring you more if you are."
MercyMe's opinion on the issue of file sharing was, "It's stealing...Just because you can do it in the comfort of your own home, it’s still stealing."
As for the biggest lesson that God has taught them throughout their music careers, "He’s always bigger than we think He is, and our plans always pale in comparison to what He has in store."
Amen.
Check out their new album called "Undone" which will be released on the 20th of this month, which can also be preordered from their website at www.mercyme.org. Also, MercyMe will have an "Imagine Tour Movie" which comes out on the 13th and will be playing in select Regal Cinemas throughout the country.
