Rumors about the Surface Pro 5 are now making rounds online. Today's reports say the next Surface Pro hybrid tablet will hit the market in the fourth quarter of the year. This news comes after the Surface Pro 4 has received a discount on Amazon. Here's the latest about Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 specs and rumors on the web.

The price of Surface Pro 4 has dropped big in a new Amazon sale, according to Inquisitr. The online retailer offers up to $300 (14%) off for all tiers of Microsoft's tablet models.

The biggest discount comes from the most expensive models. The Microsoft Pro 4 model that has 512 GB, 16 GB RAM and Intel Core i7e is now priced at $1,899.00 from $2,199.00. Amazon also offers free shipping on some devices.

Industry experts say Microsoft might be planning to refresh its device lineup in preparation for Surface Pro 5 launching. The current Surface Pro 4 was launched October last year, but some gadget lovers are asking about the developments of its successor.

Several tech websites claim Surface Pro 5 will have the next version of Windows 10 system, the Redstone 2. The operating system is not yet released publicly and still under development. Hence, the next Pro tablet will not be released unless RedStone 2 is already finished.

A report from the Bitbag says the next-generation Pro tablet might have Intel's Kaby Lake Processing Chip, which can help the device to perform heavy-duty tasks.

Fans also want to see longer battery life for the hybrid tablet. The Surface Pro 4 received complains about its batteries so Microsoft might address the issue to lure more customers. Tech Radar predicts the Pro 5 could have at least 7 hours of battery life, putting closer it to iPad Pro and other powerful devices in the market.

Meanwhile, the US Patent & Trademark Office recently published a patent application from Microsoft that reveals about its plan to develop a rechargeable Surface Pen and docking system, as per reports from Patently Mobile. Interestingly, this new Pen technology could be present in the Surface Pro 5.
