Microsoft to Fix Windows 10 Bug Issues With Windows Store Sign-Ins This Week

Tech giant Microsoft has pledged to release a patch to resolve issues encountered by Windows 10 users who have tried to sign into the Windows Store.

Microsoft issued this brief statement after complaints emerged since Saturday from Windows 10 users who claimed they could not access the Windows app store to download new apps or update existing apps.

"This issue will be resolved within the next 48 hours via Windows Update," Microsoft said in a short statement about the matter.

CNET quoted its sister site ZDNet saying that the download glitch involves the Windows 10 mail app, which the complaints said were not working properly. The report added that even when the Mail client is showing new mails, users get frustrated because they could not open, delete or move any of the messages, the report added.

Microsoft did not provide any detail as to the source of the problem, but some software experts believe the glitch was caused by the recent cumulative update for Windows 10 that was released last week. On August 5, a cumulative update was pushed out that created installation and reboot issues for some users. However, there is no real evidence to support this theory, said Windows Central.

Microsoft has officially rolled out Windows 29 exclusive to members of the Windows Insider program for testing and to provide feedback to the company. Users of Windows 7 and 8.1 who placed reservation for the new OS also received the free Windows 10 upgrade in advance. Microsoft reported that more than 14 million devices were running on Windows 10 since July 31.

Microsoft is banking a lot on their new Windows 10 OS particularly after the poor public reception towards its predecessor, the Windows 8. The tech giant aims to have the new OS installed to as many devices as possible and offered Windows 10 as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8.1 users to reach this goal.

The move to offer Windows 10 exclusively to Windows Insiders at first before officially rolling it to the public, is to beta test the new OS and hopefully fix any possible glitches they might encounter.
