Chapter 5 of Minecraft: Story Mode is coming March 29. Telltale Games

Minecraft: Story Mode is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The expansion will hit stores on October 27 in the United States and Canada. Unfortunately, European fans will need to wait an extra three days.

Story Mode is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 home consoles. Currently, the asking price for preorder is $29.99. Besides being made for console, Story Mode will also be available on Android and iOS handsets.

Parental Guidance Advised

Meanwhile, a report by Forbes warns parents that Story Mode is not recommended for kids under 12 due to simulated combat. It is important to remember that the main adversaries in Minecraft are zombies. Happily, the violence is mostly cartoonish. For moms and dads with preteens, this shouldn't be a problem.

Perhaps the greater concern, is the there is mildly bad language. It goes without saying that parental guidance is advised.

Story Mode Expands on Minecraft Universe

The premise of story mode follows the adventures of Jesse, who can either be male of female depending on player choice.

According to Telltale's blog, Jesse and his buddies find that terror has been loose upon their world during a visit to EnderCon. Shortly thereafter, the friends embark on a journey to locate the Order to defeat the new menace.

The Order consists of four brave adventurers who have slain an Ender Dragon. They consist of the Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer and Architect.

There are multiple endings, each of which is decided by the player's action during the game. This gameplay should come as no surprise considering that Story Mode is being made by Telltale Games - the same developers of The Walking Dead videogame spinoff.  Like Walking Dead, Minecraft: Story Mode is episodic.

"We've worked closely with the amazing team at Mojang to ensure this story is a natural fit for the Minecraft world fans already know and love," said Kevin Bruner, CEO and co-founder of Telltale Games. "Through Telltale's choice-based gameplay and a story spanning from the Nether to the Farlands, the End, and beyond, we can't wait for fans to experience this new take on the beloved world of Minecraft."
