Minecraft Patch Update 1.16 Released for PS4, Title Update 24 on Xbox One Still Pending

By Richard Waelty
Minecraft getting another Title Update soon.

Minecraft Update 1.16 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Playtations Vita is now available in Europe. Even though Minecraft developer Mojang has not offered details, the North America and Japan release date is not far behind. Meanwhile, Content Update 13 fixes a number of embarrassing bugs on the Minecraft Xbox One edition. There is no word regarding when Title Update 25 for Xbox One is going to be ready.

Update 1.16 Features

Compared with the previous Update 1.15, this patch is relatively small. More notably, Update 1.16 adds the new Alex female skin. Even though Alex has noticeably feminine features, she is still just as capable as her male counterpart Steve.

When players open the creative mode, they will discover an all new music track. Also, the trial version for The Simpsons Skin Pack will be available. This pack includes skins from the popular adult-orientated cartoon series featuring iconic characters such as Homer, Bart, Maggie, and Marge. Previously, The Simpson Skin Pack was only available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Content Update 13 Fixes Flying Animals Bug

One laughable issue from a previous Content Update sent animals flying when players switched to split-screen offline mode. The recent CU 13 patch fixes that issue along with a whole host of bugs.

Other fixes address memory leaks that cause crashes, dropped objects sinking into the ground,  TNT explosion issues, and baby villagers collision height. CU 13 also resolves problems in the network game portion.

Title Update 24 on Xbox 360

The last significant Title Update was TU21, which included many bug fixes. Additionally, the subsequent TU22 thru TU24 Updates added minor fixes. Like Patch 1.16, TU24 adds an all-new Alex skin.

Hence, the Minecraft community is shifting it attention toward the fabled Title Update 25. It is rumored to be one of the largest Xbox 360-specific updates to date. For now, there is no word from developers concerning when this update will be available.

Despite its age, Minecraft continues to remain popular since its first release on the PC in 2011. Players have extended the game's longevity by developing custom modification content that adds new skins, maps, and campaigns. To date, Minecraft has sold over 54 million copies across multiple platforms.
