Minecraft Wii U Edition Release Date Officially Set for December 17

The hit sandbox game Minecraft enables players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. There are activities present in the game such as exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and combat. Multiple gameplay modes are available which includes a survival mode where players must acquire resources to build the world and maintain health, a creative mode where players have infinite resources to spend on buildings and the ability to fly, an adventure mode where players play custom maps created by other players and a spectator mode.

Now, the creativity and fun-filled phenomenon will join the game roster of Nintendo's Wii U.

The Minecraft Wii U Edition will be playable with its upcoming release has made Minecraft, and Nintendo fans are finally ecstatic. The ported game will be made available to fans on the Nintendo Digital Store on Dec. 17.

The incredibly popular sandbox-survival game from Mojang, Minecraft Wii U Edition will finally be released on the official Nintendo online store on Dec. 17. The launch would include a popular content add-on that were previously released for the other platforms, where the game had been released a couple of years ago. From the announcement, there will be available add-ons for in-game purchases and will include The Simpson and Dr. Who.

According to Wired, the Minecraft Wii U Edition game has already been launched on Microsoft's consoles, Sony's PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and on the PC.

Not too long ago, the Pan European Game Information, which is the ESRB's North American counterpart, have released the rating for Minecraft Wii U Edition but has been taken down. This resulted in fans of the game being aware of its existence and just have been excitedly waiting on the release date.

In a report by Ecumenical News, the speculations regarding the Minecraft Wii U Edition release date began immediately after the previous announcement of Nov. 12 during Nintendo's live stream.  Unfortunately, the was no commitment to that date, which made Minecraft Wii U Edition disappointed.

The Minecraft game franchise is considered to be one of the top selling games of all time and has tremendously helped Microsoft increase their revenue. The Minecraft game was created by Markus "Notch" Persson, a Swedish programmer and was published by Mojang and was first launched in back in May 2009.  Microsoft was able to acquire Mojang and the Minecraft franchise in 2015 for $2.5 billion.

The Minecraft Wii U Edition will be available for players on Dec. 17.
