The Minnesota Vikings will be playing against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 10 am PST. The Vikings will be visiting the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. Fans can watch the game on FOX or online at the live stream below (free with subscription).

The Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer is known for maximizing his talent and developing defensive players. With him at the helm, Minnesota's defense is bound to get tougher, enabling the team's offensive players, Adrian Peterson, left tackle Matt Kalil and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, to score without having to play catchup.

Zimmer was the previous defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2008 and for Dallas Cowboys from 2000 to '06 and Atlanta Falcons in 2007.

Quarterback Matt Cassel won the starting quarterback over rookie Teddy Bridgewater.

The Rams' quarterback Sam Bradford hasn't played up to the scouts' and executives' expectations. Although he is known for his golden arm, he has produced only an 18-30-1 record in four NFL seasons. He had a series of injuries, shaky pocket presence and inconsistent ball placement. Moreover, he has torn his ACL for the second time. In place of Bradford, the Rams' offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is playing Shaun Hill.

While both teams are among the last in the league, their 2014 NFL opening game will set the tone on whether fans can expect to see a change in their team's prospect for the divisional championship or playoffs.

The Vikings have an upper hand in offense, but the Rams are much more solid in defense. Will the Vikings be able to penetrate the defense and stop the Rams offensives?
