A Texas-based mission group claims some success in its efforts to witness to Jewish, shortly after the Israeli elections.

E3 Partners missionary, Tom Doyles, said that though there is uncertainty following the election of new Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, some individuals have shown hope for Christ.

"We have a Jewish driver that I've known. He's been a believer for about three years and he was just telling himself and his family. He said, 'we have so many friends that have come to Christ lately and there's new congregations.' And he said, 'we are now calling it a revival here,'" Doyles said, according to a report released by Mission Network News.

Currently, less than 1 percent of Israel's Jewish population is Chrisian, while Arab Christians make up 1.7 percent of Israel's total population

More recently, according to some media sources, there is uncertainty if the newly elected leader will properly address ongoing tensions between Israel and Palestine, potentially causing occasional border closings.

"There's a lot of apathy. [The citizens] are not excited. The winner is clearly talking about dividing Jerusalem," Doyles explained. "Israelis are desperate for peace, but yet on the other hand some of the concessions they're talking about making, nobody's talking about."

Problems stemming from this situation may cause border troubles that will inhibit the travel – says Doyles – of more than 150 pastors planning to attend a pastor’s meeting in Another Middle East country, next week. Participants at the gathering, Doyles added, will discuss strategy for outreach in seven Middle East countries.

On the Palestinian side, Christians have at times faced the brunt of Muslim fundamentalist attacks. Last month, the Palestinian Bible Society building received bomb threats – part of which was carried out when unknown assailants detonated a pipe bomb that blew out the center’s windows.

The E3 Partners missionary, working around the slogan "Equip, Evangelize, Establish," has sent teams to almost 30 nations from Africa to South America. E3 missions is a merger of Evangecube and the Global Missions fellowship.
