San Francisco 49ers vs. Washington Redskins Preview

Going into tonight's game, the 49ers is placed 3rd in NFC West with six wins and four losses this season. Redskins, on the other hand, has won three but lost seven games in the season.

According to NFL Redskins stats, Washington is the leagues No. 1 rank is rush yards (155.2) and No. 5 in total yards (412.1) per game on average. Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Robert Griffin III has put down 14 touchdowns with 2,714 yards at a 59.7 percent completion rate. Meanwhile, running back Alfred Morris, who is in his second season, has led Redskins with 918 rush yards in 181 carries, putting down five touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the 49ers trails behind Redskins in placing fourth in the league for rush yards per game. San Francisco have been struggling with gaining yards and making plays to pass the ball. In these two fields, they fall significantly behind in performance when compared to their Week 12 Monday Night Football opponent.

San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick has only had 11 passing touchdowns with 1,802 passing yards, but at a 62.5 percent completion rate. On the receiving end, wide receiver Anquan Boldin has three touchdowns with 630 yards and tight end Vernon Davis has eight touchdowns with 553 yards. In rushing, running back Frank Gore have laid down seven touchdowns with 748 yards on 175 carries.

On the defensive end, the Redskins' points per game allowed sticks out as 31.1 points on average, while the 49ers have only 17.8 points. For tonight's game, if 49ers' defense can hold down the Redskins' better offensive, Kapernick, Bolden and Davis could potentially lead San Francisco to a win.

As we saw last night in the Broncos vs. Patriots Sunday Night Football, the Broncos made several critical mistakes, including one in overtime when Patriots Ryan Allen's punt hit Bronco's Tony Carter, that resulted in their lost to Patriot despite being ranked as the league's No. 1 offensive team.

Well, that being said, if Kaepernick and his teammates can lead the offensive as effective as Hall of Famer Tom Brady and Patriots can, any team with a lower offensive performance still have a fair chance of winning the football game. Thus, stay tuned for tonight's game.
