A second expansion pack for Mortal Kombat X is soon coming in the market and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment the new downloadable content pack or DLC will offer four new playable characters, new skins and new environment.

Warner Bros. recently announced in its official website, "Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is developing new downloadable content (DLC) for Mortal Kombat X, the best-selling game of 2015 to-date according to US NPD.  The new content will include four new playable characters, skins and a new environment, all of which will be available in the first half of 2016."

It added, "Mortal Kombat X is NetherRealm Studios' most recent installment in its legendary, critically acclaimed fighting game franchise that propels the iconic franchise into a new generation.  The game combines cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever, offering a new fully-connected experience that launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy."

Rumors of the additional characters emerged after NetherRealm studio head Ed Boon posted on his Twitter account a photo providing hints about the classic 2011's Mortal Kombat arena. Boon also shared another image showing silhouettes of four characters with the words "Who's Next?" and captioned it with, "Tomorrow?"

Following Boon's teaser, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made official confirmation that Mortal Kombat X is indeed getting more DLC.

According to Game Spot, the upcoming expansion packs will add more playable characters. However, Warner Bros. did not provide specific information about the new list of characters. But one of the images in the silhouette looks like Wolverine.

The current Mortal Kombat X series has 29 playable characters, including Goro who was initially introduced as a pre-order bonus then offered later individually.

Various speculations have emerged as to who the four new characters will be. Screen Rant hinted that the new roster might include Baraka, The Joker, one of the cyborgs and Bo' Rai Cho. Basing from the outlines that have been teased, the cyborg may be Cyrax, Smoke, or Sektor in addition to addition to Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya, and Tremor who were all included in the first Mortal Kombat DLC.

The report also added that fan favorites such as Noob Saibot, Rain, Sindel, Elvira, Kabal, Kylo Ren, Indiana Jones and Neo could be incorporated in the next DLC.

Last month, Boon also hinted of a 'Terminator Pack' in his tweets. He posted: Terminator selfie ... pic.twitter.com/zmFrfk0hyB - Ed Boon (@noobde) August 3, 2015.

It is interesting to note that Ed Boon's twitter account is pretty much dedicated to 'Mortal Kombat X so we have to take his hints as reliable source of information for the upcoming expansion packs.

Ed Boon's Tweets are indeed welcome especially about all of these DLCs, however it's good to know that Ed Boon is planning a ton of DLCs for 'Mortal Kombat X' in the future.

The game is now only available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
