Mortal Kombat X
Expect a lot of DLC content.

Mortal Kombat X may be getting a Rain DLC soon, though the release date is not confirmed. Meanwhile the Jason Voorhees character is finally available for all - albeit, not for free.  Those who purchased the MKX Kombat Pack will get to play as Predator soon. Unfortunately, an exact release date for MKX on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 remains unconfirmed. For now, the game is only available on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

A word of caution, the game has a well-deserved ESRB rating of M for Mature for its graphic violence and gore. In short, MKX is definitely not suitable for children. Parents have been duly warned.

Rain DLC Coming Soon

Earlier this month, MKX creative director Ed Boon tweeted a photo that teased the possibility of a Rain DLC in the future. The legacy character first appeared in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Rain is currently not a playable character in Mortal Kombat X.

Rumors for the playable Rain started back in February, when a story trailer was released. At this time, the character's release date remains unclear.

Jason Voorhees Now Playable for All

Players who bought the $30 Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack were able to play as horror icon Jason Voorhees on May 5. However, everyone else had to wait until May 12 in order to purchase the Jason DLC for $8.

Currently, a mod revealing Jason's face is under development. NetherRealm Studios had modeled a recognizable face underneath the character's hockey mask. The face was not intended to be revealed during gameplay.

GameSpot posted a preview of the hack, which will only be available on the PC version of Mortal Kombat X. Admittedly, NeatherRealm's rendition of Jason is a lot less disfigured than previous incarnations in the original Friday 13th film series. Still, MKX's Jason has deep scars.

Predator, Tanya, and Tremor DLC Coming Soon

Players will also be getting the Predator, Tanya, and Tremor characters in days to come. Naturally, Kombat Pack buyers will get to play as Predator ahead of everyone else on May 24.

Tanya will be available to Kombat Pack members on May 10, while Tremor will be ready on June 7. Those who did not pay for Kombat Pack will need to wait longer for the general release.

According to Game Rant, NeatherRealm Studio's DLC plans have been very divisive with fans. Many players question the reason new characters were not included with the initial Mortal Kombat X launch. MKX developers have often pointed out that the DLC content was simply not ready before the retail launch.
