Mortal Kombat X, one of the best-selling video games this year so far, is the latest in the Mortal Kombat series developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros.

For those curious about the game's upcoming DLC and how masked characters' faces look like, they are in luck. Series creator Ed Boon and a talented modder have teased a rumored Kombat Pack 2 and a PC mod that unveils the true faces of masked fighters, respectively.

Ed Boon, game director of Mortal Kombat X, took to Twitter once again to tease a much speculated follow up to the current Kombat Pack 1 DLC. He just tweeted a photo (pictured above) and watermarked it with the trending hashtag "Straightoutta."

The image depicts the already released promo material for the current Kombat Pack and shows the characters available to buyers. The fascinating thing about this tweet is that the photo, stamped with the words "Straight Outta KP1" raises hope that developers are likely to continue to support more downloadable content for the game. Boon even captioned the image with a wink smiley.

This tease is the latest in a long line of teases and sneaky previews released by Boon via Twitter. So far he posted cryptic tweets about upcoming updates that might include Kombat Kast, Story Pack, Jurassic Kombat, and even a Terminator Pack.

Mortal Kombat X will apparently have a long lifespan due to frequent DLC releases that will keep it up to date. Aside from that, being a PC game subjects it to various mods created by crafty modders that are sure to bring in plenty of custom changes and improvements.

As such, a new video is making the rounds online showcasing a mod that managed to display the real faces of several masked Mortal Kombat X characters. The video, which you can watch here, is posted by YouTube user named "Dynasty."

The 5-minute clip gives us a glimpse on the fully developed faces of Torr, Erron Black, Sub-Zero, and Jason Voorhees. What's interesting is that it also shows the unmasked faces of Rain and Smoke, two Mortal Kombat X non-playable characters (NPCs). These two characters have long been speculated to become playable via a future DLC.

Mortal Kombat X, released in April 2015, is the newest addition to NetherRealm's long-running series which was initially launched back in 1992. The fighting video game is currently playable on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is scheduled to be ported to the older Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles by High Voltage Software.
