Consumers looking to get their paws on hot-selling Galaxy s5, HTC One M8, and Apple iPhone 5  for a reduced price are now in luck, as Verizon launches a Mother's Day sale discount on a number of popular devices. Eight discounted devices are being offered at $100 off for a two-year contract. Verizon's offer will end May 12, one day after Mother's Day.

News of the offer was widely circulated in forums Thursday, making Verizon the only major carrier so far to be slashing prices on flagship devices in preparation for Mother's Day. Due to the fact that flagship smartphones tend to command a hefty-price, the recent offer made by Verizon may be the only opportunity of its kind for more budget-minded users. And, this offer is only available for a very limited time.

There is still a small price to pay though. After all, Verizon does have a reputation of often coming in last amongst major United States carriers for releasing software updates for their smartphone lineup. But given the unbeatable prices Verizon is offering in comparison to rival carriers, this setback may turn out be just a very miniscule price to pay.

While shopping for popular devices this Mother's Day, don't forget to get something special for Mom. After all, this holiday is dedicated to mothers worldwide. According to Gotta Be Mobile, tablets such as the Nexus 7 may be the device your mother will appreciate with its large beautiful 1080p HD display,  WiFi access, lightweight thin design, and quick performance. Starting at just $299, the Nexus 7 comes at a price that offers great performance that won't break the piggy-bank.

Other devices that are being offered at a similar discount are the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max, BlackBerry Z30, Nokia Lumia Icon, and Samsung ATIV SE.
