Moto G

Though the Moto G 2015 and Moto X 3rd Gen release date remains unconfirmed, there have been leaks and rumors over the past weeks. In the sections below, we will look at the recent developments that are happening so far.

Moto G 2015 Leaked on FlipKart.com

Last month, an online shopping site based in India launched a product page for the Moto G 2015 ahead of a formal announcement from Motorola. It is unclear whether this move was accidental or intentional. Since then, the section has been taken down along with the Google cache version. The reason for this move was not made public.

Luckily, GadgetRaid posted a screenshot of the FlipKart posting. Not much detail was revealed apart from the color and storage capability. According to FlipKart, the new Moto G model number is AP3460AD1K8. The device comes in white, and has 8 GB of internal storage. Naturally, the accuracy of this information is uncertain at this time.

GadgetRaid reported that the smartphone will have a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 SoC, 2 GB RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity. The publication also claimed that the screen size will be either 5 or 5.2 inches.

Moto G 2015 will be the third in a line of more economically-friendly smartphones. Motorola released the first model back in 2013.

Moto X 3rd Gen Release Date Coming This Fall

Though Motorola has not confirmed its exact release date, the Moto X 3rd Gen is definitely coming this year. Previously, Motorola president Rick Osterloch teased a possible launch scheduled for the fabled device.

"We try to stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products including [new] Moto X," Osterloch tweeted, in reply to a fan's question about release dates.

Provided that Motorola follows the same time frame, the Moto X Gen 3 may be ready sometime between August and October 2015. Though Motorola has not made formal announcements for the new device, the existence of the Moto X (3rd Generation) is widely accepted throughout most tech circles.

In regards to specs, not much is known about Motorola's latest flagship. However, Osterloch revealed that the next Moto X will sport Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810 chipset.

"Motorola Mobility and Qualcomm have a long history of cooperating to create amazing mobile experiences," Rick Osterloh said in a Qualcomm press release. "The Snapdragon 810 processor will enable us to push the boundaries even further so we can continue delighting our customers with devices that give them new choices."
