Baron Davis, a former point guard for the New York Knicks and current player at the Drew League in Los Angeles, has expressed his interest in returning to the NBA. According to the athlete, he's currently waiting for a team to invite him to a workout session and hopefully offer him a contract.

The offseason has been quite interesting for the NBA because aside from the surprising trades, draft picks and free agency signings, there were also a number of inactive players who expressed interest in returning to the league.

It isn't clear, though, if the reason they want to make a comeback is so that they can prove something to their selves or maybe they just want to take advantage of the NBA's increased salary cap for this year. But either way, Davis is a different case.

For one, he is not retired. In fact, he is still a very active basketball player for the Drew League, the Los Angeles Times reported. He is also a member of the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League.

In other words, Davis has the physical and mental condition to make a full NBA comeback.

The last time Davis played for an NBA team was in 2012 with the New York Knick. However, during that season, he suffered a career-ending knee injury and had to be carried out of the court.

Since then, though, Davis was able to make a full recovery. According to him, he also has been preparing himself to return to the NBA.

"I'm trying to get back to the NBA," he said according to the Los Angeles Times. "The real thing."

Davis did not say his exact reason as to why he wants to return to the league but as noted by CBS Sports, it may have something to do with his previous injury. According to the site, maybe Davis wants to redeem himself by changing his last memory with the league, which was being carried away in a stretcher.

If this is so, then there's also a chance that Davis might approach the Knicks for a second chance with the team.

"I came to The Drew with big dreams as a kid, and now I have a goal again," he said. "I just feel like I have something left to give. When I don't, I'll hang it up and stay away for good."

"But right now there's something there," he added.
