The Chicago Bulls are a mess these days with Jimmy Butler seemingly carrying the team to the NBA playoffs singlehandedly. More importantly, the locker room drama without the passion and leadership of Taj Gibson, Doug McDermott, Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol has put the Dwyane Wade team in disarray. Meanwhile, the Rajon Rondo team struggles with their identity as no particular leader could be identified and respected by the rest of the former Michael Jordan team. Is it time to bring in the big guns and invest in a Carmelo Anthony trade?

The current state of the Chicago Bulls has fans scratching their heads as the team runs around the league with no clear direction from either the front office or the coaching staff. Players of the Nikola Mirotic squad have been giving out anonymous statements to the press, divulging the problematic leadership roles in the team. Will the addition of Carmelo Anthony help the flailing Chicago Bulls reshape their identity?

The New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony are widely known to head towards a divorce with both parties expressing discontent from each other. The NBA All-Star, who had been initially eager to bring the Kristaps Porzingis team to glory, now sounds frustrated and simply tired of the way things are getting worked on in the team. Meanwhile, Phil Jackson has made it no secret that he has been quite disappointed at the Team USA star particularly of his inability to perfect the triangle.

“It’s too much. I don’t want to talk about that. I don’t want to talk about next training camp and what’s going to happen next year. That’s hard for me personally to think about that. We still have these games to deal with, and it’s hard to look toward next season,” stated Carmelo Anthony when asked of his future with the New York Knicks.

Rumors are rife that the New York Knicks are currently entertaining offers from teams across the league including the Oklahoma City Thunder to pair Melo with Russell Westbrook and the Cleveland Cavaliers to finally unite the All-Star leader with LeBron James. However, the Chicago Bulls are anticipated to be considered as serious contenders for the Carmelo Anthony trade as well.

At this point, no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in this NBA trade rumor. However, fans believe that the entry of Carmelo Anthony to the Chicago Bulls to play alongside Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade could give the Jimmy Butler team more confidence and better defined identity in games. It remains to be seen if this deal pushes through. For fans though, seeing Melo with a veteran like D-Wade would be a good direction for the ailing Chicago Bulls.
