The Chicago Bulls are slowly regaining their footing this NBA season. Despite the slow start, the Jimmy Butler squad appears to be waking up from their sleepy gameplays and could be seen aggressively dominating the hardwood court. While the changes in the basketball team's roster and coaching staff are yet to exhibit their full effects, the Pau Gasol squad is gradually showing signs of improvement. Fans have been known to be kind to the Chicago Bulls roster as the modifications in the team were substantial, which include the need to wait for the full adjustment of head coach Fred Hoiberg in the NBA team and Joakim Noah's efforts to adapt from the bench.

However, the most notable issue in the Chicago Bulls roster involves Derrick Rose. The NBA All-Star, who had been widely recognized as the star player of the franchise, has done nothing more than exhibit inconsistent performances in the hardwood court. As the leader of the NBA team, the unstable performance of Rose is costing the entire group their confidence. Critics point out that the Chicago Bulls star has been neglecting his duties as a team player and now merely focuses on himself. In the latest string of issues concerning Rose, his right knee is reported as the latest addition. He is scheduled for an MRI to check the extent of the damage.

"I feel good," said Rose of his knee, according to ESPN. "I feel all right. I just overworked myself. I gotta figure out the days where I'm going to sit. I have to do a little bit better. But the games I have rolling, just tried to give myself a little bit more than I had. And it backfired on me. Tomorrow the MRI. I know everything's going to be fine. But It's more reassurance."

With Rose's attendance once again questionable, the Chicago Bulls now turn to Butler. The young star had been earlier reported to have a rift with Rose. While the two NBA stars denied the allegations, fans of the team noticed a bit of power struggle when both players are in the hardwood court. Moreover, Butler reportedly expressed his disappointment over Rose's failure to get in games with a healthy body. If the rumor mill is to be believed, then it could be said that Butler blamed Rose for the Chicago Bulls' heartbreaking loss to LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers last NBA season.

To further cement his rank as the up and coming top dog in the Chicago Bulls roster, Butler recently toppled a basketball record - that set by the great Michael Jordan. The accomplishment was done in the team's match against Kyle Lowry's Toronto Raptors. Butler recorded 40 of his 42 points during the second half of the game, which eventually led to an 115-113 win for the Chicago Bulls.

However, Butler slammed reports putting him at the same level as Jordan. According to the young star, he remains "nowhere near" the Hall of Famer. Butler said via ESPN, "Don't compare me to him [Jordan]. I don't want to be compared to him because then people are going to think I got to do what he did. I'm trying, but we're nowhere near the same player."
