The Stephen Curry squad has been breaking records, putting them way ahead of basically all the basketball teams in the league. With the Splash Brothers in full force, the NBA champs appear to be unbeatable - a standing that could very well see them once again snag the crown this season. Moreover, the continuous health issues plaguing the Eastern Conference teams are adding to the strength of the Golden State Warriors.

However, a rumored rift might be on the horizon for the champs. Speculations surrounding the Golden State Warriors disclosed that a divide is slowly forming in the NBA team. With Curry virtually blowing everyone's minds through his three-point shots and impressive ball handling, it becomes inevitable that the other members of the Golden State Warriors roster are overshadowed. A particular player who is constantly in the shadow of Curry is the other half of the Splash Brothers duo: Klay Thompson.

Thompson is one of the go-to shooters of the Golden State Warriors. His presence in the hardwood court ensures that all defense efforts are converted into points, with the majority of the scores registered as three-point shots. Hence, it came as no surprise when Thompson named himself as the best shooting guard in the NBA today.

"I'm going to go with myself," responded Thompson after being asked who he believes to be the top shooting guard in the basketball league today, according to the Bay Area News Group. The Golden State Warriors star added, "We're 26-1." Sharing that he has "confidence" in his abilities and skills in the sport, Thompson ranked himself higher than Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls and James Harden of the Houston Rockets.

According to ESPN, Harden holds a record of 28.5 points per game and a free throw percentage ranging from .866 to .853. The Houston Rockets' star assists fall within 6.8 and 2.5 percent while his steals are at 1.8 and 0.6. Meanwhile, Butler can rake in 21.5 points per game with 3.3 percentage on assists and 5.8 on rebounds. The free throw percentage of the Chicago Bulls star is at .823. As for Thompson, he averages 19.5 points per game and bags 3.5 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors star records 2.5 assists.

"When you play with a free mind and you play thinking you're not hurt and you're healthy, that's when you're playing your best," shared Thompson in a separate ESPN report. "I want to continue playing like this, get better every month."

While the rumors of a potential rift between Curry and Thompson are rife, it looks like the Splash Brothers have nothing but respect and admiration for each other.

"Right now, Steph's a better shooter," admitted Thompson. Inspired by his teammates achievements, he added, "I'm trying to catch him. Just by a little, though. Not by a lot. I can't say he's way better than me. He is one of the greatest, and it's an honor to be in the same backcourt with him."
