The Golden State Warriors are hot on the trail of repeating their feat last season. The current NBA regular season now sees the Stephen Curry squad dominating all their competitors including LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers. The champs also managed to break the record of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls regarding the longest winning streak in a season. Amid the successes of the Golden State Warriors, fans identify Curry as the primary factor in their accomplishments.

While other members of the NBA champs' roster, such as Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes, also play important roles, the public unanimously recognizes Curry as the top dog. In fact, the NBA MVP managed to silence gradually critics who initially pronounced him inferior to King James and Houston Rockets star James Harden. Even retiring Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant commended Curry for his explosive performance this season.

However, recent reports might spell the end of the Golden State Warriors' unbelievable run this NBA season. Curry, who has been scoring basket after basket in every game, is injured. Medical experts pronounced the recovery time to be at least four weeks, thereby confirming fans' fears: the Golden State Warriors will be playing sans Curry in the next games.

Although the other half of the Splash Brothers duo, Thompson, proved to be efficient in the hardwood court, the basketball community believes that Curry's presence still evokes more confidence in the team. In his interviews regarding the injury, it looks like the MVP also feels strong against missing games.

"It's just frustrating and annoying and any other adjective you want to throw in there," described Curry of the shin injury he incurred in December, according to ESPN. The Golden State Warriors star added, "Long-term, it's not something that I'll have to worry about. It's just playing through an injury that's there. It doesn't get worse if I play on it, unless I get kicked, and that's happened three times since I did it, so hopefully it won't keep happening again."

Regarding recovery, Curry said that he does not intend to be sidelined. Dismissing the injury as a minor one, the Golden State Warriors star shared, "A while, like four weeks. I'm not going to sit out four weeks, so just got to figure out how to protect it while I'm out on the floor and keep playing. We've done a good amount and just had a couple unlucky plays, and we'll keep addressing it."

Given the decision of the Golden State Warriors to include Curry in the starting lineup against the Portland Trailblazers, it looks like the MVP's wishes are honored. Moreover, the return of Harrison Barnes in the lineup could signify additional protections for their lead star.
