New rumors suggest that Hassan Whiteside might rescind his contract with the Miami Heat now that Dwayne Wade has left to join the Chicago Bulls. If this happens, it certainly would not come as a surprise especially given his reaction on his former teammate's departure.

Earlier this week, Whiteside re-signed with Miami after agreeing to a four-year contract that's worth a total of $98 million. However, according to an insider, he was actually willing to take a $9 million discount from the Heat if it could help in retaining Wade or getting Kevin Durant, Sun Sentinel reported.

Of course, none of these happened. In a similar fashion, both Wade and Durant surprised the NBA community by releasing letters stating their respective decisions. For Wade, he noted that his future lies with the Bulls. Durant, on the other hand, announced that he will join the Golden State Warriors.

Since the Heat failed to get either player, there's a chance that Whiteside might reconsider his decision to stay in Miami. Of course, like Wade or Durant, Whiteside is also probably looking for a team that has a good chance of entering the finals next season. But with Wade's exit, this may not happen for the Heat.

Another factor that could push Whiteside away from Miami is the status of Chris Bosch. Ever since he joined Miami in 2010, Bosh has been one of the go-to guys of the team. However, after LeBron James left the team in 2014, Bosh's recurring calf injury has prevented him from fully participating in games.

Aside from this, he also has a blood clot in his leg, which forced him to miss out the rest of the 2015-2016 season. Due to the seriousness of his condition, it is not yet clear if Bosh will be able to return in good health next season, according to Yibada.

This could be another blow to Whiteside's dream of owning a championship ring with Miami. The team's chances have already dipped after Wade's departure and could only get worse if Bosh gets ruled out next year. For Whiteside though, he still has a chance of pursuing this dream by jumping ship signing with a stronger franchise.
