The Houston Rockets are coming off an impressive season with their 2017 NBA playoffs spot all but guaranteed. Thanks largely to the remarkable leadership of potential MVP James Harden, the Eric Gordon team now sits comfortably in third place with only the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors blocking their way to the top. Will the addition of a Blake Griffin contract clinch their victory in the West and possibly over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals this year?

Many predict that The Beard and his squad might actually manage to topple the two leading teams in the Western Conference as Kevin Durant remains unavailable for the Stephen Curry squad while Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and LaMarcus Aldridge could be in danger of incurring more injuries this season. With James Harden in tiptop shape and his support system in Eric Gordon, Nene, and Trevor Ariza all ready to go for the NBA playoffs, this prediction might have more merit than experts grant it. However, it looks like the Houston Rockets do not plan to rest on their laurels this time. Instead, the Ryan Anderson squad seems to be taking preliminary measures to secure their momentum.

"A lot of help, not going to take all the credit," shared James Harden of his spectacular NBA season. "Got a lot of help from my teammates and coaches and everybody in this organization to allow me to focus on what I got to do. It makes my job easier to go out there and do it at a high level every night."

Rumors are rife that a Blake Griffin trade could be engineered by the Houston Rockets soon. With the Los Angeles Clippers failing to once again impress the front office, it appears that a rebuilding phase is now in order for DeAndre Jordan and his squad. Fans believe that the big three of the Doc Rivers squad would be traded to make way for new and younger stars. While no official comment has been given by the parties involved in this NBA rumor, many feel that the time is right for a Blake Griffin trade.

The 2017 free agency season will see a lot of big names entering the market including Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. However, speculations indicate that both would definitely return to the Klay Thompson team. Meanwhile, another All-Star player is in the mix: Blake Griffin. Among the stars the Houston Rockets could realistically sign, the Los Angeles Clippers leader seems to offer the most promise.

What do you think? Should the Houston Rockets sign a Blake Griffin contract? Will the Los Angeles Clippers star be a good investment for James Harden and his team?
