The New York Knicks and Derrick Rose are anticipated to head to a divorce soon with the Phil Jackson team even contemplating a huge Carmelo Anthony trade to keep only Kristaps Porzingis and some cheaper contracts. With the rebuilding process presumably to start in the Joakim Noah as soon as the NBA playoffs commence, a lot of players in the roster might have to look for new homes soon. However, it looks like D-Rose might get to still stay in New York next season.

Jeremy Lin has been one of the most exciting stars in the league with his promising Linsanity era and Cinderella story as backup in the Charlotte Hornets. Now, the Asian basketball star is one of the respected leaders in the Brooklyn Nets with the front office and staff singing his praises. Will his next unconventional move be to campaign for a Derrick Rose contract?

"Obviously he's taken us to a whole other level, or even two levels, I don't know if that's the really the expression, but that's the way it feels. He makes us a vastly better team when he's on the court - I don't really think you can count that enough," shared Brooklyn Lopez of Jeremy Lin.

Meanwhile, head coach Kenny Atkinson admitted that Jeremy Lin had been a huge boost to their performance in and out of the court this NBA season. He said, "I think he's kind of regulated us a little bit in terms of getting guys in the right position and in their correct roles. That's been important. I think guys really thrive in an environment where there's stability. He's been as expected, and I still don't think he's in top form right now - very pleased so far."

At this point, one of the major problems of the New York Knicks is their lack of consistency and chemistry as a team despite the overwhelming talent in their roster. As for Derrick Rose, his fans feel that the former Chicago Bulls star may be looking for a team that can once again revitalize his potential and push him to his limits.

"There will be a market, but it probably won't be what he expects," shared a team executive of the Derrick Rose contract status this free agency. "I don't think [the Knicks] will re-sign him. I think he takes less money to go to a better team. He's not going to go to a Sacramento and lose. He's made a lot of money. If he could get $8-to-$10 or $10-to-$12 [million] with a team he thinks is good, I think he'll do that."

For their part, the Brooklyn Nets could snap a Derrick Rose contract on the cheap and hope that Jeremy Lin could help the former Chicago Bulls star get back to his former glory. Right now though, no official comment has been given by the parties involved in this NBA rumor. However, fans are keen to see if the Linsanity could be the one to break the curse of the D-Rose losing streak.
