NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant Calls For DeMarcus Cousins Trade; Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson Reject C

The Golden State Warriors are pegged as the team to beat next season despite losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the recent NBA championship series. As LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love work to become a better team, the Western Conference saw the emergence of a super team in Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. However, it looks like the Dub Nation has no intention of stopping there as the former Oklahoma City Thunder recruit now looks into adding fellow Team USA champion DeMarcus Cousins in their roster.

The Sacramento Kings have been unsuccessfully taking measures to build a team around DeMarcus Cousins. However, it looks like the time has come for the explosive center to leave the Rudy Gay squad and set out for a team that can offer him the one thing he has been yearning for the most: winning. With the impressive track record of the Golden State Warriors, the controversial NBA star would no doubt be experiencing a lot of winning moments with the Stephen Curry team.

Moreover, rumors are rife that Kevin Durant himself is taking part in bringing DeMarcus Cousins in the Golden State Warriors roster before the NBA season begins. Fans believe that this reported effort from the ex-OKC star is a nod to the recruitment pitches made by teammates Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green during the former's free agency season. Sources noted that one of the things that impressed Kevin Durant was the effort taken by the Golden State Warriors players in convincing him to sign with them.

"It really matters," Kevin Durant said of the recruitment. He added, "You want to know what they're about. I'm at the point in my life now I can kind of figure out what they're about. And what they stand for, just by talking with them, and sitting down and talking with (general manager) Bob (Myers) and the rest of the guys, for a couple of hours, showed me all I need to know."

Will he do the same to seal the deal to a DeMarcus Cousins trade to the Golden State Warriors? At this point, no official comment has been given by any of the parties concerned. However, sports experts note how hopeless it would be for the center to remain with the Sacramento Kings.

"Cousins is simply too talented to let his career be tainted by the downfall and chaos the Sacramento Kings franchise," noted Deasia Page of the Hoops Habit. She further pointed out, "Cousins has no choice but to leave the Kings if he wants to be a winner. Although Cousins does not become a free agent until 2018, now (more than ever) is the time for him to consider leaving the Kings."
