The Miami Heat has been struggling to climb the Eastern Conference to go head to head with former team member LeBron James, who now leads the Cleveland Cavaliers, for the top spot. Overtaken by Kyle Lowry's Toronto Raptors, Derrick Rose's Chicago Bulls and Isaiah Thomas' Boston Celtics, the Dwyane Wade squad attempts to recover its luster when they were the fiercest opponents of Tim Duncan's San Antonio Spurs.

One of the key players of the Miami Heat during the NBA team's heyday is Ray Allen. Pairing up with none other than King James himself, the two led the group in points and rebounds. However, Allen eventually left the Miami Heat to retire while James opted to exercise his free agency and signed with the Kyrie Irving squad.

Recently, reports are surfacing that the NBA community might see the return of Allen. What's more, the All-Star might be staging his comeback donning a Miami Heat uniform. While Allen has yet to comment on the matter, sources claim that the NBA team has been open to his return since the day he walked away from the hardwood court.

"According to several sources, the Heat has not only had a standing offer to Allen to return to the team ever since the 2014 offseason, but it made additional overtures as recently as this summer," shared Ethan Skolnick of the Miami Herald. The reporter later clarified, "Allen, however, has never bit."

The same report has been echoed by other sports experts. Ananth Pandian of CBS Sports pointed out that Allen will not find it difficult to transition from his retirement to the hardwood court. The NBA insider shared that the former Miami Heat star has been keeping up with his routine and remains physically fit. Hence, Allen will not be pose too much trouble for the staff regarding his preparation to take once again on rigorous training sessions.

"And although Allen just turned 40 he remains in excellent shape, often posting pictures of his workouts to Instagram," noted Pandian. The sports expert added, "So a return to the NBA is entirely possible for Allen. It is just up to him to make a final decision, either officially retire or make one last go of it in the NBA. And if he does choose to comeback, Allen will have plenty of suitors besides the Heat as teams will likely be lining up to sign one of the best shooters of all-time."

Meanwhile, fellow veteran Chris Bosh makes it to the NBA All-Star roster this 2016. Despite battling seasons filled with injuries, the big man still made it to the list - thereby participating in his 11th All-Star game in his NBA career.

"I would have broken a few locker-room doors if he had not gotten named," said Riley via Miami Herald following the announcement of Bosh's inclusion to the Eastern Conference All-Star Game. He added, "He's the best big man in the Eastern Conference. I think he's had the best season of any big man in the East. Maybe you can hit me with another name in the East. [But Bosh has been] the most efficient, versatile, dependable, durable big in the East."
