The New York Knicks are focused on two things this season: winning and redemption. The Carmelo Anthony team has been aiming to land a playoffs spot for years now, but it looks like this season could just be their best chance to achieve it. With Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah from the Chicago Bulls signed to work alongside the Kristaps Porzingis lineup, the optimism is high in the roster. Moreover, a new franchise star could sign with the team soon - one who can bring a championship attitude to the bunch.

An Iman Shumpert trade to the New York Knicks is expected to be finalized sometime soon. Fans are eager to find out if the Cleveland Cavaliers star can boost the morale of the Derrick Rose squad and help them at least make the playoffs. Will the LeBron James team let the shooting guard go this offseason?

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made history last season in their iconic Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors. With LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love finally coming together and playing as a unified force, the JR Smith squad dominated Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Throughout the season, the league bore witness to the rigid trainings and discipline the team expects from its players - even from King James himself.

Rumors are rife that the Cleveland Cavaliers found it disconcerting to have one of their players linked to legal cases. Earlier this month, it was reported that the point guard was arrested on suspicion for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana. Police officers noted that Iman Shumpert's vehicle smelled of marijuana and pot when he was pulled over for a traffic violation.

While the point guard denied the allegations, speculations arose that his arrest made the Cleveland Cavaliers reconsider his status with the team. With a JR Smith contract still waiting to be signed and the cap space getting smaller by the day, the LeBron James team is rumored to be looking into an Iman Shumpert trade.

Among the teams that are anticipated to bid for the Iman Shumpert trade are the Houston Rockets, Sacramento King and Chicago Bulls. However, the New York Knicks are expected to be strong contenders. Can the Derrick Rose team convince him to sign with them instead?

"I was feeling a lot of love," shared Derrick Rose on the New York Knicks. "You feel that a little bit in Chicago but it's not on that level of New York. So it kind of makes you anxious to actually get on the court. It's like, 'Man, they're excited I'm actually there. I haven't picked up a ball yet and I can only imagine how they're going to act when we start winning.'"

At this point, no official comment has been released by any of the parties involved. Iman Shumpert remains part of the defending NBA champions. However, fans of the New York Knicks feel that he can evolve into a stronger player if he chooses to move and play alongside Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis.
